It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the death of board member, Pic Schade. Pic was a co-founder of Qholaqhoe Mountain Connections in 2008 and served as our treasurer.  

Pic believed passionately in our work with the students at Qholaqhoe High School. She loved traveling there to work with students, parents, teachers and administrators alike. 

Pic was also instrumental in establishing our college scholarship program, traveling with Lynn to The National University in Roma to arrange the funding processes for our scholarship winners. She worried about our six students, recognizing how difficult a transition from the remote mountains to college life would be. And, she delighted in seeing how well they have adapted to university life, excelling in their studies. 

We are establishing a memorial fund in Pic’s name to provide continuing support for our six students at the National University. The fund will help ensure that Ntsebo, Rameketse, Ts’epang, Moeling, Itumeleg, and Karabo are funded through their graduations.
